FLORENCE'S STORY
My name is Florence Yatuwa. I am aged 48 years and a single mother of 3 children. I come from an economically vulnerable family, and because of this economic vulnerability my parents could not push me for further education.
This situation forced me to get married young in hopes for a better life. However, this was not the case. My husband contributed very little to my wellbeing and that of my children.
I had to do road-side petty trade in the evening to raise some income for upkeep.

This was still very little to survive on. I joined the Hope for the Future Organization a year ago, which has helped me acquire tailoring and design skills.

My income has since improved which has allowed my family to access the basics of life, and I can now send my children to school. My children and I thank the Hope for the Future Organization and our sponsor Rockflower Foundation for equipping me with skills which have helped me to reach this good level of living.

Long live Rockflower Foundation!
REHEMA'S STORY
My name is Rehema Nalubega, a resident of Namasuba-Kikajjo. I am aged 15 years, and am a trainee at the Hope for the Future Organization - a project sponsored by the Rockflower Foundation.
I lost both parents at a very tender age. I was then taken up by my uncle who had a very large family. I was forced to drop out of school in my seventh year in school.
I was identified by Hope for the Future staff during their monthly community tours. I told them my story and they offered to give me training in tailoring and design. I have had training for 6 months now, and I can now make some garments like Dresses, Shirts and Kitengi.

This opportunity has restored hope in my life. I hope I will be able to sustain myself soon. The challenge I have is that I don’t have money to buy my own startup kits.

I appeal to the Hope for the Future Organization to join hands with the Rockflower Foundation to establish up a “Startup loan Scheme,” where they loan us startup kits to help us start off which we would pay back slowly.
Thank you Rockflower Foundation and thank you Hope for the Future Organization for giving us hope in life.
